Frequently Asked Questions
We recommend starting preparation 3-6 months before the exam date. Most entrance exams are administered in the fall (October-December) for 8th graders seeking admission for the following school year. Beginning in the summer or early fall gives adequate time for thorough preparation.
The exam your child takes depends on the schools they're applying to. Catholic high schools typically require the HSPT, COOP, or TACHS depending on the region. Independent and private schools usually accept the SSAT or ISEE. We recommend checking with your target schools to confirm which exam(s) they require or prefer.
Both are Catholic high school entrance exams, but they're used in different regions. The COOP is primarily used in New Jersey and parts of New York, while the HSPT is more widely used across the country. The content and format differ slightly, so it's important to prepare specifically for the exam your child will take.
Our comprehensive program runs 10-12 weeks with two sessions per week. We also offer intensive 6-week programs for students with time constraints. For students who need more targeted help, we offer flexible one-on-one tutoring options.
Our program includes 4-6 full-length practice tests (depending on program length) administered under real testing conditions. Each test is followed by detailed score analysis and personalized feedback to track progress and identify areas for continued focus.
While we cannot guarantee admission (as schools consider multiple factors), we can help your child achieve their best possible score. Our students have an excellent track record of gaining admission to their top-choice schools, and higher entrance exam scores significantly improve admission chances.
