From the Big Bang to the Biology of Life on Earth
The Story of the Universe: From the Big Bang to the Biology of Life on Earth is a comprehensive, integrated science course designed to show students how all areas of science work together. Using the timeline of the Universe as the structural backbone of the course, students work their way from the Big Bang to the most recent human advances in medicine and neuroscience.
About the course
Along the way, students are introduced to science concepts from over 20 different areas of science, including the core concepts of biology, chemistry, and physics. While exploring fascinating areas of science such as quantum physics, oceanography, astronomy, and genetics, students get to see how all areas of science work together to tell the story of the Universe and the humans who live in it.
Each part of the course is 8 two-hour sessions (16 hours), taught live.
Curriculum
Part I · 16 hours
Beginning with the Big Bang and moving through universal history until the creation of the Earth, Part I introduces students to the basic concepts of physical science, physics, chemistry, nuclear physics, astronomy and cosmology.
Part II · 16 hours
Students do deep space exploration and study exotic celestial phenomena such as black holes and quasars. While expanding their understanding of the science and math concepts from Part I, students also learn about the engineering, technology and computer science we use to explore the Universe.
Part III · 16 hours
Part I ended with the creation of the planet Earth. Here we explore the structure of Earth and the life forms living on it — from plate tectonics to the biology of plants and animals.
Part IV · 16 hours
We focus on the human body and how humans interact with the world, ending with an exploration of the most recent advances in bioscience such as neural chip implants and the use of AI in medicine.

Yes. Each part stands on its own as 8 two-hour live sessions (16 hours) and can be booked separately at $349, or take all four parts for $1,290.
Every live session is recorded and shared with enrolled students, so a missed class is never a missed lesson.
None beyond grade-level reading and maths. Concepts are introduced from first principles and extended for older students.
At 64 instructional hours across 10 months the full course maps to a high-school science elective credit. A syllabus and completion certificate are provided.
